Introduce yourself!

Happy New Year to the forum.

I received my first PRS yesterday (Fiore) and I think it has made me realize what I have been missing all these years - what a beautiful instrument.

As for some background about me, well, I picked up my first guitar about 30 years ago and within a few years, formed a band and played a lot of shows. However, the siren song of actual stability in life called to me and I went back to school and became a lawyer (although, not a blues lawyer lol). With my work schedule, it would be approximately a decade and a half before I once again picked up the guitar. I had to relearn everything I forgot but muscle memory certainly helped with that.

Naturally, over the next few years, I would need a couple of surgeries (torn labrum and reattachment of my bicep tendon). These surgeries have limited how long I can actually sit and play the guitar. During this time, I became interested in orchestral music and, in the past couple of years, have mainly concentrated on composing using VST's. However, my love of guitar was still there and I would use the guitar to play some lead lines to color the orchestral music I was writing.

So now, even though I cannot play guitar for an extended period of time, I do play and since receiving my first PRS yesterday (but waiting until today to open it), I decided to join this forum. I will post an "NGD" once I am able to add links to the photos (which I believe is after I post 3 times).

I am hopeful that, in time, I can contribute to this forum in a meaningful way and look forward to interacting with you all.
Welcome to the addiction club MorphineNoir (great user name)! I hope you have carefully reviewed the details in the sign up process as you are now obligated to purchase several more beautiful instruments from this company!! The crew here at the forum will encourage and enable such purchases in any way we can!!! Looking forward to the NGD post!!!!

I have been searching for GAS enablers for quite some time :)

Hi, new here.

Tried to sign up this morning but it said the name already existed. Turned out I already did that in june 2012. Forgot that, suppose I'm getting old.

So I consider myself 'new' to the forum.

I'm a long time guitar player (40+ years) and a long time collector of vintage Yamaha guitars https://yamahaguitars.nl/. Main used axes were strats (Fenders as wel as custom handbuild) and ocasionaly a fender tele.

Reading about the Silver Sky I had to try one and I think is was one of the best guitars I had ever played. Bought my first one about half a year ago, one from 2020 with a maple neck. Saw a nice 2018 onyx one with rosewood neck last week and I bought that one too. I think if they would turn up sounding the same I would keep the best feeling one.

A B'd them and the difference seemd negligible (I play through a Vintage Sound 'Vintage 15'). But while playing with a backing backing or with accompanying music there was a audible difference between the two: the maple neck sounded better I the mix. As for now I'll keep both I think.

So, about 10 years after my first sign up, I'm a PRS guitar owner, and I love them!
