Car and truck lovers unite.

A couple weeks ago I said goodbye to my 2017 Colorado, what a sad day!

I know many wouldn't think much of it, but man, did I love that truck. So sharp and practical. As a young guy, it was the vehicle I always promised myself I would get someday to go adventuring in, and adventure we did!

It was sitting in the spotlight at the dealership on my way home one day, and I told my wife that night, I'm buying that truck, and that was that. We both loved it from day one - absolutely crushed the snow, which we get a lot of here, and of course we loved having a truck in general. Took my wife to the hospital in a snowstorm for the birth of our first and brought her, and later her brother, home in it, too. Nothing but reliable and great to drive for the last 6 years, but darnit, my family grew too much! Now we've got two kids and a pup, and we could barely fit the basics for camping (sleeping and eating) in it, bikes and bike trailers were a challenge, too. So I upgraded to a Sierra 1500 (which you can see peeking in that first photo), and the family all think it's a major upgrade. Me... I definitely like it, but the Colorado will always be a favorite, it was my "made it" moment, and if we're talking what was enough for me, it was that truck, no question.

On the other hand, the tech in the new GM 1500's is breathtaking, and it's definitely a sweet ride, I scored a totally loaded model without having to pay up for the Denali badge.

The new Colorado/Canyons coming out as we speak look incredible, too, I'm gonna be very jealous when I see them on the road. I think they'll have a lot of the tech from big brother, and they have a fantastic design.
Good memories, Andy. Nice thing about the upgrade…..more room for more amps!

Great pics and great share Andy.

I love this vehicle. So sinister looking. Bad a$$ if I say so myself! Chopped, locked and loaded!
Wowsers!
I was a big hot rod freak in my early days.
My fondest memory was of my purple 34 Ford cabriolet with modern mustang running gear including a od transmission and AC!
She drove so nicely and had the locals gawking whenever I took her out.
Oh and a honest to goodness rear rumble seat to boot.
My daughter loved it when I picked her up from school in it.
Let me upload some pictures from my PC shortly!

This is a rig that makes deliriously happy! This is just so damned gorgeous. This is just a beautiful beast of burden. It really floats my boat. My adrenaline is just pumping over this truck. I can’t help my excitement! And…..I am not apologizing. Lol

Cruising the local teenage drive-in hangouts in 1969 I never would have guessed this rig could create that reaction in some of the ladies.

Too funny, the 34 Ford pictures must be 12 years old and that Sony boombox is still sitting on top of that old Craftsman tool chest…and still works…lol

Some people don’t understand my obsession with these magnificent beasts of burden. I have been fascinated my whole damned life by big rigs. It’s just a beautiful thing to see a beautiful Peterbilt come barreling down the highway or even some Mac dump trucks are gorgeous. Chromed wheels gleaming. Beautiful paint. Maintained to the ninth degree. When we were travelling all over the US for my husbands business I was in heaven. I couldn’t believe how some trucks were just ridiculous. You don’t see trucks up in Canada like you do in the US. We would stop at a truck stop and get food. I just wandered around looking at all these beautiful trucks parked side by side by side. Diesel engines just purring away. It was such a unique experience for me!

like trainspotting, but if it were smokey and the bandit ii.

I test drove the C8 before I bought the 911. Neither myself or the better half liked the literal internal wall Chevy built between driver and passenger in the interior.
Possibly better for pure driver interaction but as we go out for rides together it was a big no no.
I can see that…..

That is just gorgeous. The colour, the paint job alone. The wheels are so complimentary to this vehicle. One word description, incredible!

Sexy, sleek and PURPLE! Doesn’t get much better then that!
Thank you!
Purple is my favourite colour...and yes I have a purple PRS

Out of all the many vehicles that have passed through my hands there are not that many I miss but that's one of them.
Along with a slime green 69 Roadrunner 383.. buts that's for another post...

Apparently ppl who love the colour purple have discerning taste. It’s a highly regarded colour because of the connection to the monarchy. Royal purple anyone?

I love Roadrunners too! They are one cool car from a by gone era!

Pictures if you have them!
