The Dear God Why Am I Awake? Thread.

The good thing is that you are in a great relationship, you have a new son, and overall life is good.

A wise man once said that if everyone put their problems in a big pile and were forced to pick someone else's, they'd be back within hours or days to pick their own back up.

It'll work out.

Your positivity would be appreciated more with a few extra hours of sleep.

I told you I’m ready for murder or death... I’d break out some of your world famous puns or charming wit, just to be safe. o_O:eek::p

Crack that bottle of cocktail sauce, and tag a big swig. It won't help with sleep, but it may kill ya :p

My dogs woke me up at 8:15 this morning! Dang them:rolleyes:;)

The alarm goes off Monday - Friday at 4:00...two snoozes, and out of bed at 4:20. No alarm on the weekends, but the pooches can't shake the routine. If we get to sleep in until 6:00 I consider it a victory.

Yes Mom! I've got my headgear on! Huh?! Wait! What?! Woah!? Dude! I must have been roofied again...cool...nite nite...

Good thing they're dogs...This would end really, really badly for a cat in my world...what? I'm a dog person...

I thought I had finally got my sleeping back to a normal schedule on Sunday when I woke up around 8, but then I fell asleep for four hours after lunch, and couldn't get to sleep again until sunrise. Fell asleep as soon as I got home around 7 last night, just woke up like an our or two ago. ("How long's an 'our'?" Yeah, there's a joke in there somewhere. "I don't know what yours is, but mine's 60 minutes."?)

You haven't seen our cats. The larger sister is 12 lbs, but will physically nudge my big @$$ to get off the couch and crack open a can of food. Fearlessly, and hard. I think she's part bobcat.

OK bro...try listening to "Delicate Sound of Thunder" accompanied by some deep BREATHING worked for me for years...for real...;)

Momentary Lapse of Reason helped settle me to sleep well into the early 90s. To this day I can't listen to it while driving or my brain thinks I need to yawn...

Exactly, dogs have masters...cats have servants...:D

Oh, that's a good one too! Since my crash in 2013 this "painsomnia" (apparently it's a thing) keeps me from sleeping very much, but something about those tones just calms the savage beasto_O...I can at least relax long enough to get up and noodle every few hours during the night ( in stealth mode) plus Gilmour inspires the heck outta me!;) must have worked...Sergio has gone dark...

Hey, I know not to mess with this cat just like I know not to shove the bouncer. :D

There are few situations Gilmour cannot substantially improve. Pure genius.

Also on the relax-a-list for me are Eric Johnson's mellower tunes, and Kenny Burrell for the laid back groove. These have powerful enough mojo to pull me off the ceiling when needed.

If all else fails I just watch Oscar Peterson videos and ponder how on Earth anyone gets that proficient at anything... until I drift off.

Dude, I loved that sh!t. I have a huge collection of thunderstorm CD's and downloads.... Man, I'm straight up narcoleptic when it rains out, or rather I used to be. I'm not allowed to play that stuff anymore as per the terms of my sh!tty agreement with my sleeping "partner" who has wildly different sleeping environment needs than I do.

F@ck this... I tried going to bed at 10 o'clock, got chased outta bed by f@cking Bravo TV argument porn (even though it's a discussion we've has a thousand f@ckin' times), went downstairs to play guitar (that was the good part), came back up after my "partner" fell asleep to those reality whores a couple hours later.. it's midnight. I require about an hour to wind down, chew a melatonin tablet, finally get to sleep around 1 o'clock, aaaaaannnnndddd... get woken up at 5:30 in the morning to more g@ddamn Bravo fighting b!tches on the TV downstairs!

I'm losing my mind. I need a separate bedroom and I'm not even married yet.
