Introduce yourself!

Hello everyone and thanks for allowing me to join. My lovely wife of 40 years knew I was interested in getting a Silver Sky. We found a gently used Orion Green Silver Sky at GC in Mobile AL and she insisted that she get it for me. This is my first PRS and have been getting acquainted with it. It is unique tonally and the feel is quite different......very playable. I have Gibsons, Fenders, an Epiphone acoustic and an Eastman. The Silver Sky is a welcome addition to the stable.

Welcome Karl! Congrats on both the SS and the wife that insisted on getting it for you, double winner!! A lot of helpful folk here, and of course a few that are simply batsh!t crazy (self included)!!! All welcome though (or maybe that is just my crazy talkin')!!!!

Hey Karl46!
Looking forward to seeing some pics of your SS. And, as always, stick one in your avatar when you get a chance!;):)

Hiya,

New and first owner of older PRS, 2010 Dave Navarro (non-SE). Not the best experience buying it online from an Utah based store/seller but glad I grabbed it. There's something about a white Gibson/PRS with gold hardware in my eyes. I really appreciate the volume control placement on this model.

I know production started in 2005 and ran till at least 2012, and that some had Brazilian rosewood fretboards. Anyone know if all the 2005s had 'em? or which years did?

Thanks for the warm (I hope) welcome in advance! Keith

Welcome! Thats a sweet DN there, PRS white is a killer color.

Welcome Keith! Killer axe man, congrats!! I can't personally help you out on your specs, but there are plenty of folk here who can and you can always write PRS with the serial number and they can give you some of the specs on your treasure!!! Enjoy!!!!

Nice! I’m not sure of the cutoff year for the BRW boards, but the first year production models definitely do have them.

From the north but in the south.
I play acoustic but am gasing for a 594 Thinline.

Peace
Welcome TTimm! DO IT!! Just DO IT!!! You will thank yourself for the rest of your guitar playing days!!!! FYI, this forum is often best described as the "enablers club", but seriously, just DO IT!!!!! TOTALLY WORTH IT, and I have only owned my first PRS for 13 months! Best instruments I have ever played!!

Greetings all, I'm Bill. I am a sorta old man that loves to play, and has a serious problem collecting guitars ( among other things ). Just wanted to say hi, and such to everyone. One day, when I stop working 80-100 hours a week, I'm going to get back to playing...
Hi Bill, welcome to the addiction club! Shoot us some pix of your PRSi if you can, we are all suckers for good guitar porn!! Best of luck on winning the rat race and getting back to playing!!!

Welcome Bill!
Plenty of others with your affliction around here. The guitar one…;)

Hey all. Thought I'd pop in and say hello. I've lurked a bit reading some topics and also post around on a few other forums. I became a PRS owner with my SE Starla my wife got me for my birthday last year. I love it and it's a great player. I recently got a S2 Custom 24 and it's outstanding. While definitely a step above the Starla, I have to say the Starla is no slouch of a guitar by any means. Very impressed with what PRS has been able to do with their import line. I highly doubt I'll ever get enough cash together at once for a Core, but a used CE is definitely on my radar. I've got some pics also.
