Just caught the news..Aretha Franklin is no longer with us...she had been my favorite female singer since I was a kid...the lady had some serious pipes! I never knew she was the first woman to be inducted into the RRHF. Another talent gone but never forgotten...

R.I.P. Ms. Aretha Franklin...you will be sorely missed but you'll always be the Queen of Soul in my book.

The first time I heard Aretha sing was on an Atlantic 45 of this tune, I was too young to realise it was originally by The Rolling Stones. I loved this song so much!

Pure talent. I met her a few times, as she lived in my neighborhood in the 90s. All I could do was gush obsequiously, but she was very cool about it, and didn’t treat me like the idiot I was.
