Good post re the wiring, Kingsley! I had thought of re-doing the wiring on one of my many 594's, to try this out.
N5D here today! Just when you guys thought I had foregone the DC's and went ALL-IN on the SC's, here I have an N5D in DC, a Goldtop Willcutt Guitars Wood Library DC 594.
This pic really highlights how a Goldtop finish really highlights the gorgeous top carve of a PRS DC, beautiful figure on this top, in a different way than usual!
What is special about this guitar from a WL build perspective is (1) a Brazilian Board (which is a super dark Brazilian Board, with some killer subtle flame, just the way I like them!!) and (2) the back is a little darker/richer than "Natural", something I had collaborated on with Eric of Willcutt Guitars to do. (Although I am not certain how much they actually did this - it looks pretty close to "Natural" to me. Maybe it needs to go back to the PTC for a Tobacco back refin!
I do really appreciate having a Brazilian Board, especially it being such a tasty one. That in and of itself for me is a nice differentiation over a Core 594.)
Tone is great! A killer DC example, one of the best DC's I have played.
Man, there is just something awesome about the look, feel and vibe of a Goldtop 594, DC or SC!!!
