Hello. I recently purchased a 2017 PRS Single-Cut McCarty 594 from my Father-in-Law. He purchased it new from an Atlanta based dealer in late 2020. (first owner)
It is a solid metallic red sparkle color. After having difficulty finding another one in this color, I contacted PRS.
PRS stated that it is a "2017 McCarty 594 Singlecut, with flamed maple top, Mahogany back and sides, East Indian Rosewwood fretboard, Old school Bird Inlays, Pattern-Vintage neck profile, with nickel hardware, and 58/15LT+ pickups."
After speaking with the dealer, it was determined that it was a custom order for their shop, which PRS stated could either be a One-off or "once in a while with a limited order window for dealers."
1. Would this, being a one-off custom color effect the price / value of the guitar positively or negatively?
2. What exactly are "old school" bird inlays?
**Apparantly I can't upload pics yet.........
It's Metallic Red with a Stained brown Mahogany back.
Just uploaded some image URLs below
