Okay so I bought a guitar off of ebay on a whim
it was cheap so when it comes in I'll clean it up and play it or move it on
by serial number it is a 2009 PRS SE Singlecut
it looks good for what I paid for it
but I am wondering what the pick ups are
They are supposed to be the original PRS pickups but the picture is unusual
are these the 59/09s with a funky cover?

also what pattern is the neck?

They're clearly some kind of Filter'Tron cloned pickups...
Thank you for the response
After doing some research I think you are right
its a little disappointing but I bought the guitar cheap enough that I thought I could experiment some with it
I'm thinking Pearly Gates

if it comes in and I don't like it I will send it back
but if it looks halfway decent at all I'll keep it

Those pickups could be super fun if they’re quality - very Gretsch duosonic - depending on what style(s) you play, of course.

I don't get the dusty head stock images, they only make me want to pay less.

That said, congrats! I love cheap (in cost) SE's. It may sound fabulous as is, and will look great after its wiped down.
I am with you! It irks me when people can't be bothered to at least clean the dust off of something they are selling before taking pictures of it to list. To me, this just tells me the item has been neglected and not worth as much to me as one that has been taken care of. I see it all the time with pedals listed on Reverb.

The dusty head stock is what I keyed in on
He's had it a while
But in spite of the dust the rest of the guitar looked pretty decent for its age
its what made me offer a low ball figure
I never thought I'd get it

at this point I can return it for my money back
Keep it
or sell it for what I got in it

Keeping it will give me a guitar to test pickups and wiring
generally something to play with that won't lose any value

That SE singlecut is great for what you are intending to use if for. It's in my SE "love it" zone. A core nut install would make tuning stability even better! Those pickup ring screws might not be factory, easy to swap. This still is a good buy, and you can buy any small things to enhance cosmetics easily. I also love how easy it is to get a solid setup on those as well. Absolutely Perfect for testing pickups and wiring!

Congrats man!

Those pickups could be cool if your after a spanky clean/rock tone. Years ago I picked up a used Kauer Banshee with Lollartrons and was blown away by their unique tone. If you end up liking that style and want to upgrade, look at Fralin’s new offerings. Likely the best you can buy.

Well the New Singlecut arrived today
I waited for the longest 6 hours and finally opened the box to a very pleasant surprise
The guitar was dirty as we suspected however it cleaned up nicely
There are a couple of very minor dings on the body but no major scratches or damage
The back of it does show some of the usual fine scratches from playing it
but I think they will polish out for the most part
The guitar plays nice
The action is good
I am not crazy about the pickup
They sound too bright and to my ears cheap

So moving forward she will get:
A good clean and polish
locking PRS tuners
New Strings (9-46)
Dunlop straplocks
Black mounting rings
and a set of pearly gates pickups

I am very happy with the guitar for the money

Ill get some better pictures after I clean her up and make the changes
