A few years ago I had a private stock (#2774) built for me when I was overseas. My sister picked it up for me and held into it until I got back and had a chance to pick it up. I never got the certificate that came with it. Can PRS reprint me one?

This sounds like a question for your dealer and or customer service: [email protected]

I know that PRS does NOT reprint retail hang tags, but this is a different kettle of fish and worth asking....

Kinda sucks because when I bought my legit blue used one in 2018, Lark Guitars didn't send one with the guitar. Those of you that have seen it know damn well it's not a fake. This is one area where I think the company could bend a little! I'd send it back to them if they needed that to prove it is real and legit. Knaggs might could fake this guitar. LoL!
I hate having no COA!

Yeah... Seriously... Does that look fake to you? LoL?

And I still have the original knobs and all that. Just seems kind of sad to not offer a replacement COA on a Private Stock if the customer provids pics that really totally prove it's legit.

Guess anyone could get pics if they're on the internet and try to get them then.

I edited for original posts being rude from fatigue with the bipolar 2 swings and some med changes. Dohhh

Apologies!

Pisses the ever living F@$# outta me!
You can have the certificates to my PS' if you want. I don't care about that stuff at all. I never even looked at them (meaning, the certificates, of course I looked at the guitars to take them out of the cases to play!).

I was being kinda pissy...
Meds not working good lately.

With a used purchase it's up to the buyer to ensure there's a COA, a COA is a thing of value that is part of the price.

Over 10 years ago I bought a used Gibson and a few years earlier a Fender both with missing COA's and at that time Fender would replace a COA for the original owner through the original dealer and IIRC Gibson would replace a COA for the original owner if the guitar was shipped back to Gibson. Once the original owner sold the guitar neither Gibson or Fender will replace a COA.

That blue PS is a stunning guitar with a magnificent fretboard, I wouldn't be too disappointed in not having the COA if I got to look at that guitar all day long :)

Actually, I understand. No one is more obsessed with minutiae than I am, from time to time.

I don't even know why I've still got the certificates I've got, but I routinely put stuff that comes in the cases into a box in my storage room. If I sell a guitar, whatever's in there goes into the case's string/pick compartment, and is sent off.

I doubt I'd sell one of my PS guitars, so they're completely useless. I'm pretty sure that when I'm dead, they'll just get tossed into the trash with the other detritus and effluvia of my life, of which there's plenty.

"the effluvia of my life"

If you aren't going to use that phrase I'll stick it into my lyric book.

It's a shame that Lark didn't bother to get the COA or, if it was unavailable, mention that it wasn't included.
