Hi All,

Which products are ok to clean the neck and the fretboard for the SE SAS? I’ve mostly had rosewood before and typically with nitro gloss or nitro satin finished on my other guitars. This neck feels more matte finish (is there even a finish on it?) And I wasn’t sure what is ok to use to clean and lubricate the fretboard, as well as cleaning the back of the neck from a maintenance perspective.

Maple fretboards don't need to be oiled because they aren't porous. You can just use regular guitar cleaner on the fretboard and neck to clean any finger gunk build-up.

Maple necks don't need much.

It is definitely finished. Maple is prone to warping without finish, so there's always at least a thin sealer on it. Plus it gets all gray and grungy looking when it's raw. Roasted maple excepted.

Just wipe with a soft cloth. It can be damp if needed to loosen dirt. For stubborn dirt, naptha will do the trick.

You can polish the finish out to a semi-gloss if that's your jam, or your hands will naturally do that over time.
