PRS SE Custom 24-08 Pickup Covers

I recently added a PRS SE Custom 24-08 to the collection and am wanting to put nickel covers over the zebra pickups. More for aesthetics than anything, but during my interwebs research have found it might effect the tone. On that, I'm seeing where it might "mellow" the highs, which I'm fine with. So, here are my questions:

- What pickup cover spacing do I need to consider when ordering covers? It's a 2021 or 2022 model and I assume it has the TCI "S"pickups
- What, if any, tone difference has anyone experienced after installing covers?
- What am I forgetting to consider?

I plan on having my local luthier do the work. Thanks in advance for the guidance.

Measure outside pole to pole and order the corresponding covers to be 100%. If you like the tone keep them and if you don't remove them. It's an easy job both ways.

I put a set on my SE Cu24, which are the 85/15 S zebra, and got a slightly less edgy, smoother sound, and just slightly less treble, sounds like an improvement to me. It isn't a drastic difference, some people might not even notice, but a lot of players in the past have removed the factory covers, claiming that difference in sound as the reason.

The top end on my roasted maple SE 24 got slightly less brittle when I put the covers on.
