Introduce yourself!

Thanks for the welcome

Shawn - Tough choice you offer me ... ufff... all these teams are excellent

(I'm surprised that you know to Valladolid)

Greetings!!

Hi! My name is Rory and my first PRS, a Custom 24, is on its way. I grew up in the 80's, and while I will always love shredding, I got bit by the jazz bug awhile ago, and wanted something that could handle both, or anything else, and this seemed like it. Started looking at the SE, then played the S2 and almost got one, then decided to go into heavy debt and just go for the core instrument. A huge jump for me. Actually pretty excited, can't wait till Wednesday. I'll post pictures when she comes in. Where should I do that? Anyway, glad to meet you and become a member, and an owner!

Hey everyone,

I will be receiving my first PRS Monday. It's a used signature limited w 408s, artist package and charcoal burst finish! Excited to get it.

I've been a full time freelance bassist in denver my whole life and play guitar for fun and to teach and write.

The new 408s are what got me into the prs. Always loved the looks but the sound wasn't my style til I found the 408s

Welcome aboard! The 408s are something special. I have the same color/model you're getting. You're going to love it! :hello:

Hello, all. While I don't own a PRS, My Dad owns one (it's a PRS SE set to slide). Recently, I've noticed that the input jack is broken... Any suggestions of what to do? Should Dad have it sent to a specialist to be repaired?

Hey Everyone,
My name is Stevan Garcia, I have been a long time lurker. I Finally decided to join up! I have tried to post last week pics of my collection, but it hasn't been approved yet... how long does that normally take?

Welcome to all the new folks.

I didn't know there was a wait time to post pictures, don't think there is.

Welcome Stevan! I can't remember, but post a few more times and I think you'll be past the delay. Take a look at the Private Stock Friday thread. It's almost impossible not to comment on that.

Hi everyone, my name is Bodie, from Alabama, I don't actually own a PRS.... yet.....hoping this spring will be the time I buy one, I am in love with the guitars, so thanks in advance for the welcome, and this forum is full of great information.

I'm pleased to join the forum. I currently have seven electric and four acoustic guitars. Although I have been in successful bands, I now find myself disabled and playing with friends and an informal band which seldom plays out. I have owned a '08 CE-22 Alder with Dragon II pup's for six years. I love it! but it did take some getting used to the wide fat neck. I don't know about anyone else, but I don't find the current "pattern regular necks" anything like the older wide fat neck configuration at all. Because of the bolt on neck and five way rotary selector, I find this guitar comes the closest to getting a true strat sound than any other PRS I've played. The best part is, I just purchased a 2012 Custom 24 10 top. It has a thin pattern neck. The neck took me awhile to get used to, but what can I say about the flagship instrument? I'm awestruck every time i take it out of the case! The GC where I bought it gave me the wrong hang tag and i think the wrong Pickup info. It says its a single cutaway with 57/08 pickups. I think they are 58/09's. I hope this doesn't screw up my warranty. The custom 24 has a beautiful Solana Burst 10 top. I can't get over the action. The strings are the original strings but it still plays incredibly. any suggestions as to which strings to use from here on out? no one carries the PRS strings around here. I've used Clear tones, Slinkys, Elixers and Infields. i think PRS contracts with D'Darrio. I also have a '67 SG Standard, an '08 AMerican STD Strat, a Taylor Custom SB, and a Godin Session. i look forward to the interchange of ideas with fellow PRS admirers. Prior to owning the custom 24 I bought a Les Paul Standard Quilted top. I returned it because I disliked the neck profile. They now make the necks thicker for the low strings and thinner for the higher strings. Since i play a lot of leads on the low strings, i couldn't quite get comfortable. I exchanged it for the PRS and have never looked back. I'm hooked! Maybe a P22 is next! I would like to try a Parker but i can't find a distributer anywhere.

Happy to be here! Happy Solstice All!

Gyro

Howdy - New DGT Owner

Hi everyone. I'm Jeff. I just received a new 2012 PRS DGT and am really happy, embarrassingly so. It is definitely one of those 'I need to get up at 2:00 am and practice' kind of instruments.

It is just black w/ moons so nothing fancy, but fancy enough for me.

I do have one question, if someone wouldn't mind sharing their experience. It has a white 'bubble' on the top of the neck near the 10th fret. You can't really feel it. I'm concerned about it chipping or getting bigger, etc. Anyone have any ideas whether this is a problem? I did send an email to the nice folks at PTC but thought I'd ask here too. Should I be afraid, very afraid?

Thanks and I look forward to getting to know you all and this beautiful instrument!
