New to this forum but not new to PRS Guitars.
Some favorite artists are Beatles, Stones, Bee Gees, Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly, Santana, Clapton, Frampton Huey Lewis, EW&F (Al McKay rocks!), Kool & The Gang, KC & The Sunshine Band (R&B/Funk guitar fans, please check out the early work of the late Jerome Smith on those iconic KCSB hits - it's at the heart of their style/sound.), Lee Ritenour, Larry Carlton, Doobie Brothers, Steely Dan, Boz Scaggs, Toto, REO Speedwagon (The late Gary Richrath is IMO way underappreciated.) Chic (And almost anything produced/written/performed by Nile Rogers), Chet Atkins, Roy Clark, Glenn Cambell, Jose Feliciano, George Benson and many more.
My first PRS was (Still own it, never part with it) a 1991 Custom 24 Grey Black 10 Top. Wonderful guitar! I gigged it the greater part of the '90's and as a result it has some battle scars, but what a great guitar! I play Classic Rock, R&B, Top40, Standards and whatever is required on "Tuxedo" gigs. With PRS I can handle all this with ease.
Owned many PRS's along the way, traded in/out of various models.
My next "Number One" is a 25th Anniversary Narrowfield Sunburst. This more than the '91 CU24 truly satisfied the lust for the "quack" (Although CU24's get pretty close when split to the two inside coils). It also suffered battle wear, was sent to PRS for repairs and subsequently retired. If this were issued as a CE in Black Gold Burst I'd quickly get in line for one. Rosewood FB and Moon inlays would be totally acceptable on this.
Currently play an SE EG with Dimarzio Fast Track pickups (FT2 Bridge, FT1 Mid, Pro Track neck) that plays/sound great.
I also recently found a CE24 which is awesome with bolt neck vibe. Would love to see these with a middle "single" coil (Must be noiseless) and a 5-way selector. And for those who wonder, yeah a 24 fret HSH PRS! Make it happen either in a CE or an SE and I'm there! Also, make a Semi Hollowbody version of this.
Glad to be a PRS player and glad to be here to talk PRS! These guitars rock!
