WOOD LIBRARY MODERN EAGLE V RUN!

Can't wait to see these. Both build options sound great

Green with rosewood!
Nice choice! Seems like all of the Config #2 (RW necks) are spoken for, and all of Config #1 (Maple necks) are still available.

Which I guess makes sense (to me), since IMHO a ME should have a RW-neck. But I bet @Brian G is surprised that none of the maple/Swamp Ash combo appear to be snagged.

I can tell you unequivocally that a maple neck and swamp ash body is a great combo for an MEV.
I grabbed one of the rosewood necks from this run for something different.

Which colour was that? I like it a lot and am not adverse to maple/swamp ash

This is one of the PS MEVs that Brian spec’d for his shop’s anniversary. It is subzero glow smokeburst on the top (gloss nitro) and back of the neck (satin nitro), the swamp ash back is whitewashed with blue/green grain filler to match the top.

As far as the colors for this run...I think they will all look awesome with RW or maple necks....and did you see the quilt tops he picked for this?!?!?! Usually I have a favorite or two, but I will consider myself lucky with whichever one I get (I’m down for the purple with rosewood neck).

Interesting story; I went to Brian’s today to pick out one of these nice guitars, to go with the four I currently have. First was a 2015 30th anniversary Custom 24, followed by a McCarty 594 DC Artist model. That was followed by a SS Nebula, and lastly by a SS Lunar Ice. I drove several hours one way to get there, but the door was locked up and lights were off at 4:30. Web site says they are open until 5:00 on Friday. Too bad they closed early as it probably cost them a sale. I’ve been to Brian’s three times in total, only found them open once. Sad day…

That sucks.
Always. Call. Ahead.
Simple.:)

I probably would have planned on more than 30 minutes to check out four guitars I was interested in.

I will say that Brian has gone through great pains to remain open/available through the entire Covid pandemic...despite numerous challenges. Through CDC and state guidelines changing, staffing challenges, and personal risk, he has continued to deliver his usual exceptionally high quality service. He has been seeing customers by appointment throughout, and now opening to walk in customers, while many other shops still remain “on-line only”. 100% sure he’d be there until (and even beyond) closing for a customer he knew was coming. 110% sure I would never begrudge a guy for closing up an empty shop 30 minutes early on a Friday to be with his family. 1000% sure I wouldn’t complain about it on his dealer thread for a special run of guitars even if I was disappointed.

I live 25 minutes away from Brian's and I call ahead... just sayin...

Especially if I want to check out something specific.

Hey John - Im sorry to hear about this. We have been closed at 4pm on Fridays since around April of 2020. Our google listing as well as social media pages reflect that. Unfortunately, upon reading this thread, I looked at our website and it does seem that a web update brought back an archived page of our About Section old hours. I have reported this to my web team. I do apologize, I am the one at the shop on Fridays and Im typically here until about 430 so I must have just missed you. Please give us a call should you want to come back some time and Ill make sure you have plenty of time. Im also happy to work you a nice price on something for your time and gas money.

Thanks
Brian

Always call ahead (for any dealer) when you’re looking for a particular guitar!!! A lot of times the in person sales do not get removed from online or reverbs listings immediately.

hope you get what you like. Brian’s shop is awesome

Brian,
I appreciate your effort to address my situation. I thank you for your comments, and I’m sorry I missed you. Please forgive my assumption that the store closed early, I was unaware of the 4:00 closing time. I had a frantic day of driving, traffic was bad up to Hartford followed by a treck up the back roads to Riverton and then down to Cheshire. Heavy rain and poor visibility in the late afternoon slowed traffic even further. I expected to get to your place by 3:30 which I thought was plenty of time to check out the inventory for a 5:00 closing. I have to head back to Riverton in August or September, I’ll head to your store in the morning before Riverton. That will give me time to browse and maybe work out an order for a Private Stock.

Respectfully,
John
