Ted McCarty's estate and PRS suing Gibson

I think the Santana design was an iteration of the LPJ shape, with a violin carve.

Santana used a Yamaha SG-2000 before he became a PRS artist.

Interesting to see the cavity control cover shape of the Yamaha.

I always had a hard-on on Yamaha SGs.

For some reason Carlos hates Gibson. Even today, when Gibson bought Boogie, he flipped his backline back to Dumbles

Sad, I love Gibson and Fender Custom Shop as much as I love PRS. I don't see the need for all the legal drama 😂

Well, blame it on the legal departments of big companies - they need to stay busy! - or blame it on the overly litigious society that seems to be everywhere (but especially the US). Gibson has sued lots of companies over such things, sometimes successful (Dean Flying V) sometimes not (PRS singlecut).

It's part of the Corporate Game (my band wrote a song by that name, but you can't copyright song names!)
