I have mostly nitro finished PRSes; the PRS polish isn't recommended for nitro, so I had to try other nitro-safe polishes. The one I found that works best so far to remove very light finish issues is Virtuoso. They have two formulations, one with stronger abrasives that is followed up by the lighter one.
I've never needed the stronger one. The polish doesn't seem to leave a residue, and it works with PRS' other finishes besides nitro. It also works quickly without a lot of heavy rubbing.
One key is preventing swirl marks. Cotton fibers leave swirl marks, even soft cotton; I've switched to a very soft and thick microfiber towel made by Griot's Garage that doesn't cause swirl marks, for both cleaning and polishing. Here's a link to that:
