Introduce yourself!

Good day from Calgary AB! I’m Michael. I used to play guitar growing up until I was 19 or so, all self taught…. But sadly put it down for decades. I started owning acoustics back in ‘03, but still only tinkered for another decade. I recently bought a CU 24 about a year ago after deciding NOT to buy Strat. I watched a comparison vid on YouTube between the prs models and was blown away, so I found one here in town, played it, fell in love, and bought it outright! Since then I actually started an online course ( not ashamed to say it either: I’ve actually learned a lot and have actually become a more intermediate player from it..) and play daily. I’ve never been in a band or gigged. I’ve read a lot of posts here as well, and it’s a great community!! Thanks for having me… you guys ROCK!

Welcome Michael!
I am also self taught on guitar, but do have a musical background on violin from many, many, MANY years ago.:)
Thanks for starting out with an avatar.

HI All, I am introducing myself for the second time ... I became a member more than 10 years ago but haven't been around much for a while. Lately I find my self back reading the posts and looking at the guitars so I thought I should say hi!

I am a long time PRS player ... I have a '92 CU24 10 top, '08 Mira core and just picked up an '18 SE CU24 in Trampas Green ... all killer guitars, all get gigged with weekly and all have the road rash to show they've been played ... a lot.

Anyway ... good to be back.

Hi,I’m Davide and since January I’ve got my first prs: hollowbody II Piezo SE peacock blu

Welcome to the two newcommers and the old schooler who has been playing hookey! Good to see the enthusiasm for this amazing product!! If you have any music you would like to share (that is after all, why we have these hunks of hard wood) you can post them in the Studio & Stage section!!!

Hey welcome aboard Michael/neighbor (sort of). I live 5 hours north of you, not totally in the bush but definitely "rural" LOL. Yep, there are definitely fine people here, and some really outstanding players. Em, I don't mean me in that sector, but I'm working on it. Post a full pic (or pics) of that great guitar when you can, we love drooling over other's machines.

There are several good threads here to help you get your head and devices into the PRS Forum posting routine! PM me if you need any additional assistance!! Looking forward to the 6 string porn!!!

I figured her out!! Thanks friend!!!!
You’re the best :)

Mmmmm, that's purdy! My SE Custom is Sapphire blue but I do have a thing for those wonderful flame wood tones. Color doesn't necessarily make an instrument great, but you can make greatness look "greater"!

Good morning! Please allow me to introduce myself…I’m Jason, a 50something musician in the hills of Western Massachusetts. I’ve been playing music most of my life. After some school band saxophone, I started playing bass at about 15 because, well, that was what my friends’ band needed. I picked up my first guitar about a year later, but was primarily a bass player into my mid 20s when I started playing mandolin and quickly found myself as a popular “guest” with a couple of bands, playing some pretty cool gigs. I went back to playing mostly bass in my 30s, bought and sold a LOT of basses, guitars, amps and other gear (I’m a definite GAS-oholic), had a bass custom made for me, did a lot of gigs with a folk/rock band and later a “fusion” group, recorded in some nice studios and…by 40 life took over and my “career” as an active musician waned. Increasingly I turned my focus to guitar and songwriting to feed my musical appetite. A few years back, my grandmother passed away and I convened two of my oldest friends (yes, the guys I played with when I was 15!) to play something at her funeral. The spark thusly rekindled, we “put the band back together”. The pandemic stalled our plans to start doing some small gigs, but my transformation to primarily a guitar player stuck.

I’ve got a number of instruments around the house but the main once’s are a Martin DM, and Ibanez AR325QA and my beloved custom 4 string bass. I have at long last purchased PRS (Hollowbody II SE Piezo) which I should have in April. A friend from another musician’s forum had recommended this place as a good place to talk about guitar and music, so after a lurk about, here I am.

So yeah…hi!
