Dave's not here
I'm a well known thread hijacker. That's not always a good thing, but it's a thing. That’s fine. But this wasn’t a tubes vs modelers thread. Its purpose was to regale the greatness of the HXDA.
The Kemper Krishnas had to hijack the airport. You could, maybe, start a thread about how fabu the Kempers are. You know. Just a suggestion here.
And I’m tired. A physical and mental wreck due to the ravages of age and the folly of my youth. Well, and adulthood, so there’s that, too. I’m on my last legs. Show me some mercy! And uh, hand me that cane, and that glass with my teeth in it. Thanks.
Of course, it IS appalling that you get this box, and buy a model of the HXDA, but when challenged to duplicate the tone of the real thing, I’m hearing, “Well, we can’t because our profiles don’t match all of your settings.”
Hey, either the model can do what my amp does, or it can’t. If the answer is that it can’t, what’s the point of the modeler? The real amp CAN do it.
The profiles that I referred to are free, and hosted by Kemper, and made by users not companies.
Unlike a modeler, a profile is made as a "snapshot" of the amp settings/speaker/mic, which is why there's no way I'd want to try your challenge.
Again, if I came to your house I could very likely surprise you, but I know I'll never convince you anyway, and honestly I don't want to. We're cool.
The offer still stands...
If you send me a direct guitar track that you recorded, I'll re-amp it with the existing profiles so that you can hear that profile with your playing. It might be fun!
Or not... All is good.
