Even in my current lazy state, with gigs it's 5-10 hours a week, but closer to 5 atm.

Tricky question for a couple of reasons:

I gig the occasional weekend, so when I do play out that adds three hours to that week, plus we usually practice a bit more in anticipation, so there might be a few more there. Some weekends I get to spend a lot of idle time noodling on my guitars, some weekends I never get a chance to pick one up.

And...I don't always play PRS (shhh!). I mess around on an Epi Casino I keep at the girlfriend's place, plus occasionally I want to play my Strat, or LP, or an acoustic (I don't have an Angelus...yet).

So in total probably a bit over 10 hrs a week total guitar touch time, averaged over a couple of months. But probably a bit less than 10 hrs per week of PRS-touch-time...

This time of year my playing is highly biased to acoustic and most of that is not on PRS. Lately my electric time has also been non-PRS. Recently my weeks probably break down to:
2hr classical
4hr other acoustic
2hr PRS electric
4hr other electric

long term average is more like
3hr classical
3hr other acoustic (maybe 25% PRS)
5hr PRS electric
2hr other electric

10-20 for me. 3-4 hour band practice at least twice a week, plus evening noodling on the couch. Then add any time to learn new stuff... How do we still have fingers left after all this abuse?

:dontknow:

I wish I could do 40+ hours. Might be quite good in a couple of years.

I used to play like 20 hours a week until my son was born 2 years ago. He unfortunately doesn't let me play very much, but that will change when I can teach him to play with me !

Lately, two or three hours. I have been playing mandolin and singing and acting in a musical, and I have been focused on that.

I normally play 3-10 hours a week . Since almost being killed last week, not much until I heal......

When my daughter is around we jam and make up riffs for her band ....

Technically 0 because the PRS has not seen the outside of the case in months. But throw in the Gibson VOS cousins and I'm at about 15 hours a week. My skill level is more commensurate with 15 hours a year.

Well, I just got mine today, but for the past three months I've actually been averaging something close to 120 hours of playing per month. After a few years of not really playing at all I was invited to a band about a year ago and my playing has continuously increased as I again felt the need to improve and enjoy it like crazy again.

Right now, less than two hours a week it seems, and I only play from Friday evenings to Sunday.
No time on work nights at all to play when I get home from work.

But...with Thanksgiving coming up I have a four days off, so that will go up.
And I have 17 days off at Christmas time,. so the guitars will be getting lots of attention.

I play my SC-58 as my primary guitar, but I also pick up my strat, EVH and Les Paul on occasion. Probably 12+ hours each week of total guitar.

Virtually none at the moment. Once I get the music room set up and get back in the groove I'll possibly do 10+ hours. When I was at college doing music it was probably 5 hours a day minimum most days a week. Wish I had that time these days! :)
