At the risk of starting a riot... my Axis is the best sounding rock guitar I've ever owned... or played... GREAT pickups, and basswood body/maple top, decked floyd and maple neck is a KILLER rock tone machine.

I know. But you'd be surprised (if you never played Bodia's Axis). A decked floyd makes the bottom end much fuller and tighter, like a fixed bridge guitar. Maple over basswood is a lively body combo. Not saying it sounds like a Les Paul, but it rocks. Hard!
