So I was checking out my collection of PRSi and I suddenly realised that I have never owned a Custom 24 and I in fact only owned one 24 fret PRS (my birdie '96 CE24 with HFS/VB) ... so I decided to start hunting around for one. I wanted a 24-08 and would have liked one of the 35th anni models but instead this one came my way with specs I wanted - except for the colour. Charcoal isn't really a colour I would have chosen but it still has a nice top.

So now I present to you my first CU24.... This one was a Wood Library with brazzie fretboard and an IRW neck. Oooh I love the chocolate necks - so yummy. The pickups are also 85/15 MT's and the back is African Mahogany (where are the normal mahog backs from?)
In playing it, I find it feels a bit stiffer than my 22 fret models. Anyway.. enough with the rambling rabble, I know you really want to see the porn.

Guitar porn is right... I LOVE THIS ONE!!

I am a big fan of Charcoal finish when it has a top like yours. I also think it's wise that they use the natural back and sides to bring out some warmth in it, the black would be a bit too dark IMO.

Thats a stunner and the 24-08 style switching, rosewood neck would make that a very versatile and tonally rich instrument. Happy for you with your new acquisition.

As a few others mention, the charcoal top with the natural back makes me weak in the knees. It is an amazing look. The top on your CU24, charcoal finish, and a rosewood neck.... Just WOW! That is an incredible combination. You have one very nice instrument there. Congrats.

Congrats!

I have a P22 Trem that is this finish. I like yours better. Mine has a very nice top, 10 top, but is a black back. I like the natural back much better.
