Dave's not here
That is fantastic! And yes, RW neck FTW!!!
Gorgeous! Have never heard of anyone complaining of too much rosewood.
Mrs. Rose did.
You wood too considering Mr. Rose hadn't cut the thorns off his stem!Mrs. Rose did.
I really dislike the black backs that seem to be so common now and my hunt included a 'no black back' spec. My 2004 CuRo 22 is whale blue and that has a black back that absolutely irks me. I want to see the grain of the wood through the stain.Congrats!
I have a P22 Trem that is this finish. I like yours better. Mine has a very nice top, 10 top, but is a black back. I like the natural back much better.
I think I have 3 guitars that are black back. It is definitely not my favorite. I have gone out of my way to try to not buy guitars that have black backs. The P22 was everything I wanted except the black back. I decided I could live with it on that guitar since the front is based on black. Two others I have are blue and red with black backs. I would change all of them if I could. However, all of the guitars are great so I live with that one aspect of them I don't love.I really dislike the black backs that seem to be so common now and my hunt included a 'no black back' spec. old pic.. CuRo on the left
Such a nice chocolaty neck.. but that black body..
nearly 20 years later.. the rosewood neck has faded quite a bit (strange how the rosewood trc didn't fade) ... i had 2 toned the hardware here.. I was in the process of putting all the gold hardware back on this one

Gorgeous! So I was checking out my collection of PRSi and I suddenly realised that I have never owned a Custom 24 and I in fact only owned one 24 fret PRS (my birdie '96 CE24 with HFS/VB) ... so I decided to start hunting around for one. I wanted a 24-08 and would have liked one of the 35th anni models but instead this one came my way with specs I wanted - except for the colour. Charcoal isn't really a colour I would have chosen but it still has a nice top.
So now I present to you my first CU24.... This one was a Wood Library with brazzie fretboard and an IRW neck. Oooh I love the chocolate necks - so yummy. The pickups are also 85/15 MT's and the back is African Mahogany (where are the normal mahog backs from?)
In playing it, I find it feels a bit stiffer than my 22 fret models. Anyway.. enough with the rambling rabble, I know you really want to see the porn.

My P22 Trem looks a lot like that. The light parts on yours look more white than mine. Mine are more gray with the black. The pickups on mine are also black squabbins so that reinforces the black theme. I definitely don't hate it but would have probably have chosen a different color if it was available. I like more reds and gold/yellow finishes. I had a lot of cherry sunburst guitars at one point. I didn't realize how many of them I had gravitated to. I still have a number of them.I recently got this one and think it looks stellar with the black back. Makes the top and scraped binding pop.
Not that it's a big deal - my other guitars have tinted transparent finishes in back, but I like this more on this one. As a side note, Gretz originally ordered it with a natural finish in back. PRS decided it should be black. I bought it from dealer stock and am glad PRS did it this way!
Charcoal is one of my favorite PRS finishes. The BRW fretboard has an interesting, striated look.
I'd say 60-75% of the PRS' I've had have been various cherry bursts and amber colors. But I'm an equal opportunity addict these days. I even like blue!My P22 Trem looks a lot like that. I like blue too, and red. My 594 is actually a royal blue metallic top with a natural back. It really caught my eye when I first saw it. I kept coming back to it online. I shot the shop an offer on it and they counter offered but was still a little higher than I wanted to pay. They said that was the best they could do. However, before I saw that message I sent them a counter offer that was a little less than their counter and they accepted it. I don't own many guitars where you can't see the wood grain in the top. This one just looked really good to me and still does today.I'd say 60-75% of the PRS' I've had have been various cherry bursts and amber colors. But I'm an equal opportunity addict these days.
