I was looking at dfarr’s Killer new acquisition and it got me thinking... do I prefer the cream rings or black with stunning charcoal cherry burst finish? Swap mine back? Help me decide...

I’m clearly passing the time this weekend given the COVID-19 concerns... be safe, all!

Both work.

Dfarr’s look right because of the lighting the photographer has used and it mellows the top a bit, which means the rings match nicely.

Your photo appears to be taken in a light with more contrast, pulling more blues from the charcoal area of the burst, which compare nicely with the black rings.

But what makes you happy is what is important.

Both work in this case. I prefer black, but the cream ones work nicely with the neck's binding.

I most often go for cream in these debates, but in your case I prefer black.
Gives the guitar a more serious, business-like appearance.

In the case of your guitar: Black.

This is coming from the guy who swapped out the stock white ones for cream on my 594SH.
