Babysitting a S2 Custom 24

Hello all!

Name is Hugh, I'm new to PRS guitars. I'm looking after PRS s2 custom 24 right now and I'm loving it! I haven't seen many in this red burst color.

Thank you dude! Yeah I love soundtrack stuff. Harold Faltemyer, Vince Dicola, Vangelis, etc are all big influences. I try and focus most of my effort on the composition rather than the guitar playing.

The coloring on that S2 looks different than the standards...if that's a custom color where does one get one?

For my eyes, that is by far the hottest SECU24 I have seen. I really need to know how to get one in that color!!!

Prs really changed the tops to more figuring by far. Love the new tops and prs hit a home run with these. Sorry I don't mean to take from your thread but here's a pic of my s2 cu24 . The tops have now become a lot nicer and more eye appealing .

Sleary, did you add the pickup covers? My S2 Cu24 does not have them.
How do they change the sound?

I swapped out the pickups for emg James hetfeild set as my s2 is my main guitar for metal.

How do you like the Hetfields? Last time I had a set of EMG's in a guitar was a USA Steinberger I used to have and I hated the tone (which was probably more due to the guitar design than the pickups). How do you think they compare to the 81/85 or whatever.

Comparing to 81/85 emgs ......jh are more organic, much like a passive but has a lot of bite. Great metal pickup however can do vintage sounds with a simple roll off. The neck pickup is very clean,by far my favorite.
