Are ebony tuner buttons hard wearing ?

I am thinking of replacing my tuner buttons on my phase 3 locking tuners for some cool looking ebony tuners. Has any forum member had any experience on these. I was wondering if the ebony would be hard wearing and last.

Why I should think not! They're wood. Wood can't hear when it's been all cut up and processed. The very idea that...
