This reminds me of why I played a (modified) Squier 51 several years ago when I was doing doing some fly-to gigs.

I had a sick feeling just reading that article. Horrible. The airline should be giving him the value of the guitar, not the repair. There's no way to tell if it will ever be the same. The repaired guitar value won't be the same. I might have been crying. ATA case. Makes me afraid to ever try to fly with a guitar.
