I've been contemplating asking this ? for a while now, but worried about the aftershock. first of all, this is in NO way intended to be sarcastic, degrading, snobby, arrogant or condesending AT ALL! please understand that, and refrain from sending angry PM's.(lol) i'm sure this is a ? alot of gibson/epiphone, fender usa/ mexican users fight about too. I have owned probably 30-35 guitars in my time, gibson, heritage, fender,(usa & mexican) epiphone, dearmond, schecter, rickenbacker, prs, and others. a couple i wish i had back, (my heritage h-150 and my korean epi dot) in various price ranges, so i've had top of the line, and near the bottom also. I had tried prs's in guitar stores for years and never found any that felt right to me. I respected the build quality, but never had one grab me. when i got my first prs, a mccarty korina brazzy, a few years ago, it was like, "this was the guitar that was meant for me". i was even shocked myself. 3 years later i am still head over heels completely and madly in love with it. since then i've owned 4 other prs's, and still have 3 total. as stupid as it sounds, I am a prs man for good. i dont even look at anything else. since i bought my first prs, i have tried alot of SE's, but to be honest, just cant bond with any of them, probably more mental than physical. my best friend and guitar partner, owned a mccarty korina, but because of limited funds, had to sell it when he bought my NF3. it was one or the other. a couple of months ago, he wanted a guitar with humbuckers, so he bought a brand new SE tremonti. i asked him before he bought it, "are you going to be happy with a SE after owning 2 usa's? the answer was yes. we put a #7 in the neck, and a usa tremonti in the bridge. it's a very nice guitar, and plays very nice. we'll the last few jams i haven't seen him play it at all. (he loves that NF3 to no end) so i asked why, and i got the answer i knew would come sooner or later, and i'm sure you can guess what it was. so now it's on the selling block, because he cant get used to a non usa PRS. even though i think for the money they are probably the best guitars out there in that price range, I just cant do an SE! I love my usa prs's, and i cant do anything but a usa prs. once again, no disrespect or snobbery here,( believe me, i miss my korean epiphone dot very bad, it played better than ANY usa gibson dot i ever tried, so i'm not looking down my nose at ANYONE who owns a non-usa prs) just the plain truth. anyone else feel this way? ok. let the nasty remarks begin!
