Tonewoods Redux

an early morning perspective after 6 decades doing this ..

In the end , it all comes down to what works for you in your situation. The music community is filled with myths and rumours, Egos and Attitudes ,incredible ignorance , holy grails and holy SH** as well.

Find your tone , then constantly try to refine it . Listen to everyone, you may not agree with thier perspective .. but you just might learn something......valuable...

I've found beater instruments that shouldn't sound as great as they do , and gorgeous one that didn't cut it in any way .
There is an odd logic to that .. the reason a real beater looks that way is ..it's so good you play it through hell and back .. of course not many of those have solid brazilian necks and spectacular tops and inlays.

I'm fortunate to have ( and have built) guitars out of about every wood and combination you can imagine.. there are always surprises ...and some disappointments ... it really comes down to the skill of the luthier .. and thier passion to bring thier dream into a legacy in music
