The One Pedal you MUST have. Home. Studio. Gigs

H9, but I’m stuck in the last decade :)
I have two H9s on my board. I love them! The time-based effects are great, including the delays, reverbs and micro pitch delays that sparkle things up. But they do so many things that even when someone asks for an off-the-wall thing, I'm ready.

Essential for me, but then...so is pretty much everything else... ;)

It's not that I need all the pedals for everything all at once; but I do need them available for my studio gigs. I never know what clients are going to want. So I can't do "one essential pedal."

Essential just to make the damn noise:

Player, guitar, cable, amp.

Essential to be able to do the work:

Everything I can get my hands on!!! :)

In just learning about pedals. A sage member here coughdtrcough told me to ditch my pod go and start with actual pedals with knobs. Good advice, if costly for a gear slut such as myself. Anyway, I think my favorite so far is an MXR Sugar Drive. Makes the fat clean, crunch and mkIV modes all sound… better. A touch over unity volume, maybe 11:00 or less on tone and drive.
