Studio + MEV

I may be able to give you a more informed answer in a few days.
However, my preliminary observations is that the MEV sounds hotter and cuts through more. The Studio is extremely balanced and well calibrated in this regard. The MEV is possibly voiced differently than the Paul’s Guitar. Plus it will sound different since the bridge is different as well.
The MEV has so many configurations that you forget what each one sounds like once you play with the combinations.
17 sound configurations, and I still end up on the neck HB most of the time …

Sorry for the necro-bump but I have the same combination except my Studio Purple Iris (but not 10 top nor wood library) and my MEV is Fire Red.

A great pair! Oo-er missus :) Life's not a Carry On film...

Must post pics later in the week (similar to your family portrait thread in March). On second thoughts, I can't as I don't do the image hosting thing. I have enough trouble posting on fora...

Acquired both a day apart!
Satin Nitro Purple Mist Wood Library 10 Top PRS Studio and Nitro Opaque Black Top PRS Modern Eagle V.

Congratulations on those two beauties. If you had to choose one, which would it be and why?
Thanks

Thank you!
I think PRS did a bad job naming them. The MEV should be called Studio instead.
The MEV pickups are hotter and the split positions can be appreciated more when playing at high volumes. I wish the middle single coil was beefier sounding. However since there are 17 different positions, you are spoiled for choice and can be frustrating at first.
The Studio on the other hand is a nice vintage sounding piece. Just sounds wonderful in any pickup position.
It’s hard to pick but I think the Studio is the winner by a hair!
