It says on web site most solid bodies have 10-46
On Se 9-42 so its safe to say use 9-42 the guy at GC said 10-46.... getting a setup done just want to use the right size. Thanks ahead of time!

If you're having a setup done then get whatever gauge you prefer. You don't have to go with the 'factory' gauge.

Thank you guys for the respones it was driving me crazy:beer:

I am going to assume you are a new player. 9-42 will be easier to fret due to having less tension but many people end up on 10-46, at least, at some point due to a fuller, cleaner sound. I personally started on an acoustic so 9's really felt like limp noodles under my fingers. If you start on 10-46 it will take a little more finger conditioning but then you are there and won't need another full setup to change gauges.

The SE nut slots are cut for 9-42s, if you're fitting 10-46s on, you'll need to widen the nut slot a bit. Let a qualified tech do the job or if you have nut files you can do it yourself.

Personally I prefer 10's, even on my CU24 they are super slinky. Agree with above, if you are newer to playing 9's will be easier. If you are getting a good setup then 10's are not out of the question either.

I've played for years and years (um...over 30 now, yeesh), and on most of my electrics (strats, LP, teles) I've had 9s, because I simply found them easier to bend. But recently I've been playing an Epi Casino with 10s, and a lot of acoustic (with 11s, I guess, maybe 12s), and I find I am causing the notes to go sharp more often than I'd like on my MD Cu24 because it has 9s on it. My co-worker also has a MD Cu24 and swears the 9s are exactly what he wants - maybe he has more finesse than me, or maybe I just play more than him and on other guitars "too much" (I do play a gig every weekend or so, plus band practice and my own noodling in front of the TV).

So I'm considering for my next string change to go to 10s on the Cu24. That is the factory set anyway...

I wonder whether the SE line comes with 9s because those models are targeted more to the beginner/novice guitarist (targeted more, not targeted solely!).

Just wanted to echo this. It's safe to use whatever gauge you want, especially with a proper setup. There is no "right" size, except the size that is right for you.
