Interesting idea, but I think oil infused brass with delrin wear plate bearings would produce better tone than those ABEC#1/ISOP0 44178s he's got in there. Or at least use ceramic thrust insert ABEC#1/ISOP0 UC207-23 PP/TP ZRO2 LD models.

On a more serious note, I'd want to reverse the rotation of neck so the strings travel from the base of your fingers to the tips, not the way he has it. The way it is in the video is a disaster waiting to happen. Plus, with an open tuning, you could use your fretting hand to strum the notes as the strings rotate past.
