Hi all. I have an S2 Singlecut Standard that I quite love. I’m now looking at the S2 McCarty 594. I’m pretty sure I’d like the shorter scale length (I have a Gretsch in the same ballpark).
I’ve listened to some demos and I might be able to get out and play one at a local shop, but I’m curious what experienced folks here can tell me about the tonal differences between the Singlecut with the #7s and the McCarty with the 58/15 “S” pickups. The demo videos make me think they will be a bit brighter and lower output, but there are so many variables in recordings it’s hard to say for sure.
Also, any noticeable difference in tone between the standard McCarty and the “thinline?”
Thanks!
