Praise Music?

Yeah, you heard it here first. My singer also sings every week at church in their praise band. And, she was talking to them about the person who usually plays electric guitar. And, well, they want me to come to one of their rehearsals on the 16th (WAAAAYYYY early in the morning I might add).

Now, I can absolutely say that that is NOT my favorite style of music. But, I am looking at it like this. I will have at least one rehearsal and one time to play out every week. And every time I pick up my guitar, no matter the "style" of music I am playing, it is a lesson in the mechanics of playing. So, I may have to do it as I could certainly use the practice.

Sadly true. All the worship guys sound the same now. They have what I call "protestant church standard" sound.

Based on my experience playing in church, i play to serve the song and ambiance to encourage worshippers.
