Just read this in the news:

"David Gilmour, Pink Floyd lead guitarist, sold 156 of his guitars at auction and is giving all of the money to foundations that fight global warming.
The 156 guitars sold for 21.7 million dollars.
He even sold the famous "Black Strat", that he has so often been seen playing.
It sold for 3.9 million alone."

I know he's a Strat guy mainly, I guess, but I wonder if any were PRS? Hard to believe he wouldn't have a top level PRS, esp for studio work. Either way, I think it's an excellent thing for him to do.

Gilmour didn't own any PRS guitars.

It may be time for him to try them, since his collection has dwindled quite a lot.

He would make them sing, he's so damn good.
I can't believe - I mean, I know you're right - he would have so many guitars and not have a PRS. That seems like a shame. If he loves playing wouldn't he owe it to himself to at least try what's out there? Makes me wonder about the Becks and the Claptons. Page.

David Gilmour is never off topic... lol. I followed the auction, and was out of the bidding instantly. Literally nothing went at anywhere near the projected price. Jim Irsay, owner of the Colts, bought the black Strat. He can afford it. He paid more for the case than I would have spent on the guitar!

Hat’s off to Dave. He and Clapton sure put their money where their mouth is.
