What makes this guitar a prototype?

Well, it was a limited production item (200 made, from what I have read), so before going into full production PRS would have made a few prototypes to make sure it all "worked". Usually these prototypes look identical to the production units, so the only real difference it is the notation on the back of the headstock, knowing this was done before all the others.

In other words: possibly nothing except the gold ink. :evil:
