What about a veneer on the headstock of a video screen like on a phone or tablet? Then you could have anything you want! PRS signature, birds, even angry birds. The possibilities are endless!

I like your logo the way it is, but if you were going to make a change - I would simplify and go with "PRS".
I don't know how much it will cost PRS to make the logo change, but I would only make it if it was going to result increased sales of new guitars - Which would more than offset all the one time costs.
