My trem springs are tuned to a C#!?!?!

So yeah, I got my 1st PRS and have been so inspired to play. A lot. Everytime I hit a C# I hear the springs resonating. Like it’s own on board spring reverb.

Never knew this was a thing.

This is unplugged just noodling around.

Core but not bothering me. Just never heard that before.

I have three Ibanez JEMs. The Ibanez Edge Floyd-style tremolo has the noisiest springs of all my trem equipped guitars. A little foam inside each spring’s coil did the trick.

If the springs are ringing in one key and the OP is playing in a key a 1/2 step higher or lower, is there dissonance?

I play a C, nothing. C# it rings

One of my Strats is D and the other is B. I like to embrace the noise of a trem, but like others said there are ways to shut it up, too.
