This is my small (literally) addition to the the thread... 1982 Honda Express. Put a lot of fun miles on this one. Sadly, we had to part ways a few years back, as I had no where to keep her anymore. But when I was in college, I rode to class every day until there was ice or snow. Loved that little bike!
Also, Wedge, your ride is INSANE!!! But you definitely need a PRS with an orange whackmaster paint job to go along with it!

I started riding early this year.
My learner bike is a 2000 vulcan 750. It served it's purpose, but it's definitely time to up-size. (6'2" 230)
It barely has 2300 miles on it too and gets 52mpg consistantly.
My in-laws have a 2000 fatboy i ride a lot when i go visit. It's lowered with a V&H propipe, wheels, heritage bars, and an ass load of chrome. It's a fun bike, and it fits like a glove.
As soon as i sell my 2000 formula and the vulcan 750, I'm getting a vulcan 1600 mean streak.(and a couple of PRSi)

My very first bike looked almost exactly like this.
I bought it in 2004 (my first year of riding) and it was a 1990 Yamaha Virago 750. Had a lot of fun on that bike. Perfect starter bike. Cheap, low to the ground and not overpowering.

I'd be scared to be on one in any amount of traffic. I've been rear ended 3 times since 2010. In a car that's one thing...on a bike there's no telling what type of horrors would have been.

I got rear ended years ago while in Florida on an old Kawi GPZ 550.....I stopped for a red light, old guy behind me didn't......worst thing is after I rolled like six feet forward and grabbed some brakes, the bastard whacked me again and never saw me there til I turned around and hit his hood with my fist hard enough to grab his attention. Probably lucky for both of us he rolled up his windows and locked his doors.....to add insult to injury when he left and I restarted the bike I threw the chain instantly due to the back wheel being knocked out of alignment with the front sprocket......sucks pushing a bike in the Florida heat......

I told my wife when we got married..shes my wife not my mother...I will listen to anything she has to say but whatever decisions I make are mine.
Some of the best times I've had on my bike have been riding to far places with my daughters..

Speaking of the whole 'general population' that says bikes are dangerous blah blah... We always here from someone who knows someone who was killed on a bike which is why "I will never ride on one of those death traps'..(always the detractors)
My reply...do you know anyone who died in a car accident? usually I am responded by silence....You cant live your life in a bubble..
I dont drink and ride, I am covered head to toe in gear, my bike is lighted up like a christmas tree and I take my riding skills VERY seriously by taking advanced riding classes..
MOST of accidents are self induced, too hot in corners for thier bike or skill level and from drinking...not saying all but MOST...

I usually respond by saying, "Motorcycles aren't dangerous, drivers with cell phones are dangerous." but I like those comebacks. I'm going to start using them.

agreed...that being said, those that are afraid of them, I'd rather they not be on one, for their safety and mine.... As for cell phones behind the wheel...I am an absolute nazi when it comes to those. My 20 year old daughter will lose keys INSTANTLY and she knows it. My 15 year old already knows the shpeel from her older sister.

My rental when i was in maui a few months ago. Rode the hana highway and up the haneakala mountain. i'm pretty sure i scraped about a 1/4" of metal off the floor boards by the time i returned it.
