I've been playing a vintage Jazzmaster for a long time and just picked up a 35th Anniversary Custom 24. I like the 24 quite a bit, but was shocked by how much wider the spacing is between strings compared to my Jazzmaster. Is the string spacing on the Pattern Vintage or DGT (or another neck pattern) closer to vintage (50s) Fender?

Without doing some research I don't know how the DGT string spacing compares to vintage Fender's, but I do know the DGT string spacing is narrower as compared to other PRS models. The spacing is narrower due to Mr. Grissom's preference for a vintage neck specs, narrower nut width. I'm sure others in this forum can provide a more specific answer for you.

The Standard / Pattern Regular are all 1- 21/32" VS Pattern , Pattern Vintage , Pattern Thin @ 1 11/16s

I just measured my

96 Tele @ 1.698"
PRS SCT @ 1.695" ( wide fat )
PRS CU22 SSH 1.691" (Pattern )
PRS DGT @ 1.678"
