I don’t care about the money, I care about the sound. Nobody should pass judgement on what somebody spends. Whatever you pay, it’s worth it if you love the guitar.

Most of my guitars are bought as "tools." They're going to be moved a lot, subjected to lots of temperature swings, out on stands in semi-dangerous spots (marinas), etc. These guitars are perfect for that, because they hold up to all of it without fail.
