We just received two new MacBook Pros for the Tiboy household. I’m looking for recommendations for the “best” anti-virus software. I want something that will protect and also clean up any malware/virus/Trojans already present.

None. I haven’t needed any on a Mac in about two decades.

We use the Avast free one. Seems to work, but annoying pop ups to purchase one of the paid tiers every couple of days.

I don't use virus software on any of my Macs. Apple's pretty good about protection updates, and I've never had a virus on a Mac since 1987.

Nothing here. I’ve been rolling on the Mac train for almost a decade. One of the reasons I made the switch was security.
But if you really want to, I’d suggest going to one of the Mac forums. I can’t think of their names anymore as I never need tech support.

Thanks guys. I have never used any antivirus software for my macs. I had an incident while loading Microsoft Office for Mac on the new laptop. Hence my inquiry. All seems copasetic with constant monitoring.
