I remember seeing this billet in the PS production room. I thought, "some lucky guy found this rare feathercrotch, and I wish it were me."
Every time I see it, I admit that I'm jealous. You have a real winner.

With wood this dense, it's unusual that it didn't check badly as it dried. I have a similar crotch log of cocobolo that I had let naturally air dry over the past 20 years, but once cut, discovered it had checked pretty badly. :-(

What good is a 1-string bass? The only tone wood was in your Rapala lure. But a darned nice one, at that.

I still have dreams about cocobolo Angels when I see this one! Epic in every way!

That's just ridiculous... I mean, some of these guitars, yeah, of course they're amazing lookin'.. but damn, there's no way a sub-$1000 guitar can look this good.
