My local guitar center has decided to stop carrying prs models in the store and when I went in yesterday they had all the prs guitars on clearance. I wasnt looking to buy but when I saw that the Custom 24 throwback limited run (normally $4999 in the store) they had was on clearance for $2500, I couldn't not buy it. I got it at less than cost according to my guy there. I believe these were limited to 100 guitars so I feel like I found the deal of the decade on this baby. here is a picture of it from Guitar Center's platinum site (this is the actual one i got).

I got an amazing deal on one not too long ago. They are seriously awesome guitars with hardcore mojo...I don't know about that 4999.99 price tag that many carry but if you look they are out there!!! CHEERS MY MAN!

I still think the matching flame headstock veneer should be standard on everything (except throwbacks! haha) but man, the throwbacks are killer guitars.

Congratulations - with they would list those prices on the actual site that are in-store! You got your less new than I got mine for used...but not by much :) Mine still has the 59/09s, seriously considering putting the T&Bs that came with it in, and then throwing those 59/09s into my ZM or Akesson. I agree with the mojo, I suspect it would have even more with the T&Bs...

I used to have a 2011 Custom 24 with 59/09s and I would say this this one sounds and feels way better. Im not sure what the mojo is but I love it. I was also curious, does anyone have any sounds clips or youtub links to what the 1985 pickups sound like?

Nice! I was tempted by one of the GC blowouts a while back. I figured I'd get a new guitar at pretty much the used price, joy ride it for a while and then resell. But once I got them in my hands, each and every one of them was dinged up. :bawling:

Nice man. So you have had it a week or so. Can you tell us how you like it? I thinking about buying one. I just feel like at these prices, I almost have to. So there is no tone knob on these? Just volume, pick up selector, and sweet switch? Are the spare picks ups and knobs the same as what is already installed on the guitar? I am guessing there is just the one option for neck cuts, similar to a WF?
For right around 2700-2500 there are a lot of options.....P24, a new CU24, or this throwback?

I just bought the amber modern eagle ii for 2750, and the makenna blue 408 for 1735. I just called one store and put the guy to work, grilling the other stores on condition. Both of mine are 100% mint, never played, but you have to grill them.

that should be the price list. calling some of the stores, the employees dont even know the sale is a thing...its embarrassing.

if you are OK with a few dings, and try to find something that is a player, and not a closet queen, you can buy them at 40-60% off what other stores are currently charging.

Well, first, awesome guitar! Second (and I am never sure of the propriety of talking prices on the forum) but is the price list posted in the link above for real!? If those are accurate, I'm going to have to consider some new guitars!
