Hi,

I'm a new member and need your help valuing my guitar.

It's my pride and joy and the nicest guitar I will ever own, but for financial reasons I now have to sell it :(

I've seen Custom 24's go for £1200-1600 on eBay.

Mine be is a 2010 Custom 24 with an Artist grade top (higher quality than 10 top) gold hardware, birds.. The full package!

Here is the full spec:

Model:Custom 22/24
Top Wood:Maple
Frets:24
Top Spec:Figured Maple
Top Grade:Artist
Neck Wood:Mahogany
Neck Carve:Pattern/Regular (Standard)
Fingerboard Wood:East Indian Rosewood
Inlay:Paua Birds
Bridge:Tremolo or 2-Piece Bridge
Color:Black Cherry
Hardware:Gold
Treble Pickup:HFS Zebra
Middle Pickup:none
Bass Pickup:Vintage Bass Zebra
Electronics:5-Way Rotary

I could stick it online for 1800 and hope for the best but I'm afraid I would be severely underselling such a great guitar!

Here's some pictures to help!

it will be based on market demand. And based on your above research, it may not sell. But, then again it may sell for your asking or higher. Again, depends on the market.

Serial number dates it as a 2001. Which would make sense given the tuners.

We're not allowed to talk about pricing openly on the forum.

We can totally talk used prices here, just not new prices.

To the OP: Checking eBay for sold listings is the best thing you can do to approximate the price other people have paid for a similar guitar.

I would put it on some Auction sites and advertise on some other sites as well, you need to be aware that some auction sites will want 10% of the selling price. If you are in a hurry then the price may be right. If you can wait then put it on at a higher price and see if you get any offers. If possible offer collection or hand delivery, this way there is no confusion about what the buyer is getting and will reduce the chance of them coming back in a few weeks complaining that it was not as described.

Righto Sergio. I agree with wardog too, that it's really a demand thing. I paid quite a bit for my Artist package, but I wanted THAT specific one, so it is worth every penny I paid. It's a beast and has one of the best tops I've seen on a production guitar. Clowns & goats, oh my! ;)
