First, I love the Beetles.
Are they musically fantastic?
For their time they stood on the shoulders of giants and reached heaven...
Were they a commercial success?
They absolutely redefined music marketing. Taking the band inside the studio for album recording was revolutionary (along with The Rolling Stones).
The Beetles and The Rolling Stones started the concept of a garage band that led the 70s and 80s rock and roll.
Yes, their music may seem simple and cliche by today’s standards, but we wouldn’t be here without them. They really were revolutionary.
