Since I have been asking for a PRS Tele since the Silver Sky came out I threw my hat in the ring early.
Well today was the day grabbed a ( former ) friend ( bad influence ) and headed to the shop , a couple of guitars to trade in hand , hoping to come home with a bit of cash in my pocket.
NOPE , Didn't happen that way , did the walk around as I waited for them to grab the NF53 and there were some killer guitars on the wall couple of nice CE24 and something in Blood Orange jumped out.
Went to the tryout room said, if I hate the NF53 , I have a second option.
After a couple of bad choices in amps I did warm up to the NF53 , BUT the other guitar was special and after the former friend did a better sales job on me than the sales guy I came home with both guitars and broke ( again )
SO This thread is worthless without pics so

So a New NF53 and a 2015 Santana Retro followed me home !!!
I am surprised the NF53 seems to have a one piece body as most of the reviews mentioned them having a 3 piece body just restrung and adjusted the setup small pickup adjustments make a big difference. it plays and sounds like a PRS not as raw as most Teles but I don't play a tele like a tele so its working for me so far.
Now the second one This Santana was love at first strum is all I have to say.
I'll post more about them both once I get more time in.
I must stay out of guitar stores for awhile.

Nice

Getting to know the guitars , first the easy one
The Santana is stunning and that says something , I owned a KL-33 and a Santana 2 neither lasted to long and Sergio has them now , they Santana Retro seems to have a better voice for me , the pickups don't seem as hot as I remember , it just works as is I have not even changed strings.

Second the NF 53 - It is growing on me , like a normal tele there is not much to hide behind , it shows your flaws but rewards big time when you are on point.
As with all 25.5" scale guitars I switched to 9.5-44s and that might have been a mistake , I might like it better going back to 10-46s its a little loose feeling at the moment.
The bridge pickup really kills for big rhythm ( with gain ) tones , the middle position you could just leave it there always and the neck is very big sounding. I am finding myself using the vol and even the tone more than usual on this guitar ( like my Teles )
The neck pickup is easy to get louder than the Bridge also.
Great sounding , comfortable , really light weight guitar.
a minor gripe ( personal preference ) and has zero to do with tone or playability
The pickguard is kinda sharp edged and 100% square on the edges , any bevel would be better and that, can be changed easy enough and i ordered a Tortoise shell 3 ply pickguard that will be killer I think. The Silver Sky has a beveled 3 ply guard ( Hmm )
and as delivered the neck was sticky like many nitro necks can be , a bit of polish and playing and hanging out seems to have solved that already.
Oh and the new PRS Strap buttons are not as good as the older ones , had to go back to the Grolsh red Washers on the straps of the Fiore and the NF53 ;(
One last positive - Its seems my (maybe all ) Burst NF53s have one piece bodies unlike the reviews of the Doghair finish ones
