“Red African Wood” = painted sepele. What makes it different is semantics and a much higher price.

Westie came in on Friday and its absolutely beautiful. It is definitely a little smaller than I was expecting but extremely easy to play. The chunkier neck will also take some time to get used to but still much better than my old Les Paul traditional. One weird thing about it tho is that playing the open A string causes the lead pickup to vibrate and buzz a bit, this is when it not plugged in... Anyone else experience this?

I've had the covered pickups on my 53/10 ltd vibrate when played acoustically. I've stuck a little bit of card down the gap to wedge the pickup against the pickup ring. Works a treat. I think it even improves the tone like pickups screwed directly to the wood does

You can also change the pickup springs. They’re usually the culprit.
