Apologies if this has been discussed, but I could not find much beyond one person confirming that their 2017 SE Santana had 4-conductor wiring.

So...

Can Santana SEs be set up for coil split/tap?
If yes, is it only certain model years?
If yes, is it as simple as replacing the tone pot with a 500k push-pull and wiring like the SE Custom: https://www.prsguitars.com/documents/se_customs_standards__wiring_schematics.pdf

Viewing the wiring schematics, it looks like the Santana Singlecut SE does not have 4-conductor wiring, but the regular Santana SEs do. Is this a safe assumption?

Yes you can split with most pickups, the only exception being single conductor with braided shield that don’t have a separate white tap.

In terms of split controls you could do both on one push/pull like the first diagram though then you’re stuck without independent splits. Other options include a push/pull volume or a Freeway switch for more combinations. The other improvement is to put a 1.1k resistor in series with the neck pickup shunt and a 2.2k resistor in the bridge shunt if you want less volume drop. This is done on many core guitars that don’t have multitap pickups.

Thanks. I figured as much, just wanted to be sure. Thanks for the ideas on the resistors!

Well..i own from 2 weeks a Santana se standard vintage cherry my 2018..the One with binding on neck and body..beautiful Guitar.
She has Santana s pick ups with four conductor..you can split Them..but in the way She leaves the factory the coil working with split are the outer ones..those with screws..of your want to split the inner coils you should invert Red wires ( that Is the One that go from default to selector )with the black One that Is tied with ground wire.in this way you split ti the inner coil and the sound Is way Better..
Btw..Santana s pick ups are some of the best pick ups i've Heard...in my Guitar 7.95 ohm for neck and 8.55 for bridge..very 70's Gibson sounding..slightly overwound paf..great bass..Little more mids and softer treble..but still very articolate...
