I'm pretty sure I just saw Carlos playing a gold singlecut to celebrate Superbowl 50.

I saw that coming out of halftime. It looked like it was painted gold, or maybe plated. Definitely not a goldtop.

Looked like the same type of metallic finish as Eric Clapton's gold leaf Strat.

Can't comment on that as I was so PO'ed at the way that idiot Lady GooGoo turned the national anthem into a "Look how I am fantastic" self promotion that I absolutely refused to look at the halftime show. There is just way too much commercialism that just completely takes away from an event like this. I doubt that I will ever give a d@*n about any future Stoopid Bowls. And, though II was hoping the Panthers would win, congratulations to Peyton and company for his 200th win.

Welcome to the realization that football is merely a part of the entertainment business, with lots of tie-ins, good and bad. The NFL are whores of the first order! They will monetize every little bit of everything they can, right down to DVDs of the game plus hats, T-shirts and souvenir coins.

Why do you think Peyton Manning kept saying, "I'm going to drink a lot of Budweiser" after the game? Gee, does he love Budweiser that much, or do you think Budweiser paid a crapload of money to have him say that?

I'm gonna guess he was PAID to say that. It's called a product placement. Pretty obnoxious, wasn't it?

Lady Gaga's label probably paid a fortune to the NFL for her Anthem shot. 100 million viewers? Not a bad night's work.

The whole thing was a big, old-school, Show Biz extravaganza of the first order, and that's why I prefer college football which, while it is becoming like the NFL, isn't quite there yet. Soon, too soon, it will be the same.

Plus the game was boring as hell unless you were a fan of one of the two teams playing.

I'm going to add my own big, giant, BAH! HUMBUG! to the Super Bowl. I kind of liked the halftime show, though I didn't see Carlos Santana at all.

I swear I saw Tim Pierce standing right in front of the stage for one instant: The only grey haired guy with black glasses in a sea of screaming fanatics. If anyone dvr'd the halftime show, check it out. Thanks. (The stage, viewed from above, was incredible, great 3d graphics). As for the 'music/show'? No comment.

I bet Santana's SC was a gold foil, as in the metallic foil looking finish, perhaps not the "gold foil" gold foil...Looked badass anyway.

So here's where 'I think' I see Tim Pierce.

Right at the 3:23 mark, then again at 3:34; check it out. Isn't that him, on the right side, in the blue top with the yellow lanyard with his hand on the rail?

I think a gold SC with 24 frets has appeared in PS Friday some time ago...

This is the first place I've heard that Lady GaGa did a bad job. Everyone is just glowing about her performance. I didn't see it, I was working.

I personally didn't think she was very good either. I just cant stand the "over-emphasizing" of every syllable in these "modern" versions anymore. just sing the flippin' song normal and get off the stage.

I thought she was outstanding. And she's not my thing.

Coldplay, on the other hand............I really don't get it. I guess CM's talented at hopping.

I think the Lady Gaga anthem hate is more a product of peoples prejudice towards her stage appearance.

I come from a musical family, including 2 professionally trained singers. I've heard a lot of vocals in my life. Aside from ONE small iffy part, I thought her rendition was one of the best I've ever heard....period.

Still prefer Rugby and pints of IPA to all that kerfuffle and commercials, but hey ho
